Korean Glass Skin Treatment
Overview
How your skin reacts afterwards
These are normal and settle on their own. Anything severe or long-lasting — call us.
Immediate Skin Response (0–48 hours)
The treated area may appear slightly reddish or pink, similar to a mild sunburn, accompanied by warmth and tightness
Mild swelling can occur and usually subsides within 24–48 hours. The skin feels tender but not painful
A slight tingling or itching sensation is common as the skin begins to regenerate
Short-Term Healing Phase (Days 3–10)
Light peeling or flaking may start within 24-48 hours, lasting up to a week, revealing fresh, glowing skin underneath
The skin may feel dry; applying dermatologist-recommended gentle moisturizers helps soothe discomfort
Some individuals, especially those with darker skin tones, might experience temporary post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (dark or light spots), typically fading within 4–8 weeks
Regeneration and Results (Weeks 2–6)
The skin becomes smoother and more refined as collagen production increases and pigmentation fades
Dark spots and uneven pigmentation reduce significantly, resulting in a brighter, more uniform complexion
Most sensitivity subsides by the second week, with optimal results visible as the skin fully heals
How Korean Glass Skin Treatment Works
Thorough cleansing removes sweat, deodorant residue, and impurities to prepare the skin for treatment.
A thin layer of hydrating gel-based mask is applied to brighten and even out skin tone.
A light blend of botanical oils is gently massaged into the skin to nourish and rejuvenate.
A cooling gel calms the skin, reducing any redness or irritation.
A soothing mask is applied to relax and further calm the skin post-treatment.
The practitioner applies a relief ointment and broad-spectrum sunscreen immediately after the session to protect the skin barrier and ensure optimal healing.
Pre Care
- Avoid: Avoid exfoliants and harsh products (retinoids, acids) for at least 3-5 days before to reduce skin sensitivity
- Do: Do not wax or use hair removal methods other than shaving for 1–2 weeks prior; shave 1-2 days before treatment
- Avoid: Avoid sun exposure and tanning for at least 1-2 weeks to prevent pigmentation issues
- Stop: Stop deodorants with fragrances or alcohol 48 hours before to avoid irritation
- Inform: Inform your practitioner about medications, allergies, and skin conditions to tailor the treatment safely
After Care
- Keep: Keep the treated area clean and dry; avoid applying deodorants, perfumes, or skincare products for 7-10 days
- Avoid: Avoid touching, scratching, picking, or peeling the healing skin to prevent irritation, pigment loss, or infection
- Stay: Stay away from sun exposure, excessive sweating, swimming, hot baths, and saunas for at least 10 days during healing
- Use: Use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer daily to soothe and hydrate the skin as it heals
- Apply: Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily once the skin is healed enough to be slightly exposed, to protect from UV-induced pigmentation
Results, who it suits, and who it is not for
- Multiple sessions are recommended every 21 to 30 days to allow the skin to fully regenerate and respond optimally
- Visible hydration, brightening, and smoothing generally appear after 3-5 sessions
- Full results, including improved texture, reduced pigmentation, and the signature glass-like glow, typically develop within 4-6 weeks following the final session
